Participation -- Are we extending ourselves (TDA) too thin? Fall is typically very busy for us. We'll keep this in mind for planning our 2001 calendar.

New TDA T-shirts are in and available from Bill Kritzer. Dues for 2001 of $30.00 can be paid now to receive the new TDA T-shirt. The swim suit order has been held until we have more orders. No requests have been made for Land's End merchandise (Polo, turtleneck, bag, etc.). Most likely a Land's End order will be made in the spring in time for Toronto in July 2001.

External Communications Committee: (Chair - Jere Becker)
An article will be submitted to The Dallas Voice this week to include results from the DC meet, joining TDA, and our upcoming yard sale. An additional press release will come out the weekend of the sale. Efforts will be made to give more exposure of TDA at DAM meets and socials. Brad Lengyel has requested to be on DAM's social committee.

Website -- all individual IGLA teams will be removed from the links page. There will still be a link to these teams through IGLA's site. There was discussion of adding a link to a Dallas Gay Community site.

Community Events / Social Committee: (Co-chairs: Peggy Rey and Page Nance)
--TDA Wednesday Night Supper Club: Luby's at Oaklawn and Cedar Springs will remain as this month's restaurant for October 18 and 25 at 8:00pm. We will then change to Bangkok City (4301 Bryan @ Peak 214-842-6200) from November 8th on at 8:30pm. No supper club on Nov 1 due to yard sale setup. If you don't go to practice, still try to make this weekly TDA social event. A new restaurant will be selected at each monthly meeting.

--TDA Banquet/Elections: November 18. Celebration has been reserved for 7:00pm for 20 people. The charge per person is $15.00 (to Bill Kritzer), this will include beverages, dinner, and dessert, Alcohol not included. Page will be gathering the RSVP's.

Remember our policy on large items: "If two people can't easily move it.....then we don't want it." We are always collecting items for the sale. Let Brad or Larry know if a pickup is necessary. Items can be stored at Brad's warehouse. with the final drop off date of Sunday, October 29. After that just bring to sale site.

Swim Department:
New times/location for fall/winter practices: Baylor - Landry Center: Mon/Wed 7-8pm, Fri 6-7pm, Sat 11a-noon (SMU)

IGLA Toronto 2001 Task Force (Brad Levinson, Bill Kritzer, Mark Westergard) Met with Bobby Patten to discuss taking him (and wife and baby) to Toronto. If he is not available then possible Jim Montgomery or one of the female coaches. Our goal is to recruit appox 30 swimmers from DAM. Bobby said mailouts are more of a waste of time and money and that word of mouth works best.....so lets talk it up with your lane mates.

Larry will be putting together a sample meet packet with all the Toronto information we have to hand out to interested swimmers.

Old Business: TDA Charity
Peggy Rey's report on the Walt Whitman School: Swimmer was found but is not 19 yet and therefore not able to swim with us.

Brad Levinson moved that TDA donates $100 to the Walt Whitman School for a sports scholarship. It was seconded by Brad Lengyel. Unanimously passed by all in attendance.

New Business: Sports Massage Therapist
Jere Becker's client, Troy Holleman, has offered his services to TDA members for a sports massage. He can be contacted at (214) 443-9361

No team meeting in November. The banquet/elections is November 18 at Celebration, 7:00 PM
